ExSILOS: Development of large metal silos in response to the explosive conditions of biomass
IDI-20191151
Projects co-financed by the CDTI
The general purpose of the project is the development of an in-house model of a large (>10,000 m3 ) tubular flow (core flow) metal silo for the storage of biomass in which its safety against the risk of dust explosion can be guaranteed, in the absence of regulations governing dust protection and which is efficient from the economic point of view; in other words, it uses the minimum amount of steel or metal necessary and reduces the need for venting to a minimum.
