During the G20 investment event held in Berlin on October 30, the companies Eranove, Siemens and TSK closed an agreement to develop and build the first combined cycle power plant in the African country.

The Gijón engineering firm will be responsible for executing the project under the EPC format, which will include equipment from the German company SIEMENS. With a power of 65 MW the plant will be located in the town of Lomé and will cover 30% of the needs of the country. Thanks to its operational flexibility it will stabilize the network and integrate renewable energy.

Togo currently has no gas supply and the generation of electricity is based on fuel-oil and diesel power plants that are not very efficient and highly polluting. The arrival of gas will not only generate electricity more efficiently but will also favor the development of industries such as chemistry, food or metallurgy.

The signing of the agreement was attended by the President of the Republic of Togo Mr. Faure Gnassingbé and Siemens President Joe Kaeser.

Eranove is an independent electricity and water producer with a presence in countries such as Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This new project consolidates the presence of TSK in the African continent where it has been working since 2000 in countries such as Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, Uganda, Mozambique, South Africa, Ivory Coast, and Egypt, now to be joined by Togo.
