Secretary Chacón visits the construction of the Antonio José de Sucre thermal power plant

The Secretary of Electric Power, Mr. Jesse Chacón, visited last Tuesday the thermal power plant Antonio José de Sucre, located in the municipality of Sucre, in the eastern territories.
Chacón inspected the construction works of the first phase of the project, aimed at generating a power of 340 MW so as to cover the service demand in Sucre.
This thermal plant, owned by Corpoelec, is a project designed to be constructed in four phases in order to reach a total power of 1020 MW to cover the whole state of Sucre and the nearby cities of Nueva Esparta, Monagas and Anzoátegui, in the eastern part of Venezuela.
The plant, located in the Rincón del Portachuelo sector, Altagracia de Cumaná, will also provide for health, education and environment in the surrounding urban areas, such as Jagüey de Luna, La Gran Familia, Villa Frontado and Tres Picos.
