TSK and Highview Power are developing large scale (up to gigawatt-hour) long term energy storage systems together using Highview Power’s proprietary cryogenic energy storage technology.

Through this technology, the joint venture HIGHVIEW TSK, is developing projects that allow the deposit of long-term energy when, where and how it is most needed.

Unlike other high energy storage solutions, Highview Power’s technology eliminates the problem of geographic limitations of large scale storage by easily storing energy in the form of liquid and supercooled air.

With lower costs than batteries, the LAES (Liquid Air Energy Storage) system is presented as a competitive alternative for energy storage on a medium/large scale, and can be used alone or in conjunction with unmanageable renewable energy generation plants such as photovoltaic or thermosolar.
